Supplier Spotlight: Creditex S.A.A.

History

Creditex is a textile company with the best vertical integration in Peru. They develop "full package" products for clients – from the ginning of cotton, through the production of fine yarns, through the total control of the manufacturing process of the fabrics to the manufacturer. Their creative staff, professionals and specialized technicians work with state-of-the-art technology to develop unique fabrics with the highest quality for the world to experience.

At the end of the 19th century, when a large number of farmers abandoned cotton cultivation due to a plague, Fermín Tangüis managed to develop a new variety of seeds of long and thick fiber, of spinning and easy dyeing and with a hydrophilicity that gave origin to fabrics of unsurpassed quality. He created Cotton Tangüis, which is highly absorbent and able to retain 24 to 27 times its own weight. Creditex produces approximately 10 thousand tons of cotton yarns per year, including Pima (extra long fiber); Tangüis (long fiber). They also produce ~9 million meters of fine cotton fabrics annually, divided into two lines: decoration and garments (shirts and pants).
