Tintex, a northern Portuguese textile mill, is switching from conventional cotton to an advanced blend of premium cottons. Tintex introduced their first ‘Naturally Advanced’ product line last week at Première Vision in New York City. Their ‘Naturally Advanced Cotton" is made from Better Cotton Initative (BCI) cotton, Supima cotton, GOTS certified organic cotton, and Ecotec by Marchi & Fildi recycled cotton.

Tintex chief executive officer Mario Jorge Silva said, “This new launch is confirming once more the commitment of Tintex to its ‘Naturally Advanced’ position. meaning advancing beautiful, organic and natural materials to the next level combined with unique, hybrid ‘nature-tech’ smarts, with added value and creativity, thanks to dedicated investments that serve and secure our customer’s demands both now and in the seasons to come.” – Sourcing Journal Online. 1/19/2017

The four premium cottons comprising Tintex’s ‘Naturally Advanced’ cotton-textile help reduce the environmental impact of traditional cotton production. For example, Ecotec has reduced water usage by ~80% during manufacturing and BCI improves economic development in cotton producing geographies. Tintex is preparing to present their “naturally advanced” innovations at Ispo, Munich from January 28th till January 31st.
